The writer Tony Tulathimutte has received the inaugural Jack Galef Literary Arts Award. The prize is administered by the Iowa Writers’ Workshop on behalf of the estate of Jack Galef, an alumnus of the Workshop.

The prestigious prize is the largest annual cash award for English-language literary criticism and will be awarded to poet and Professor of Poetry at Queen Mary University of London, Andrea Brady.
