Become a Donor

Our generous donors have made it possible for Writers' Workshop students from all over the world to come to Iowa City to focus on their work and make an immeasurable impact on today's literary landscape. The writers who live and work here are only able to do so with our donors' support.

Whether by contributing to existing funds or establishing new ones, our donors enable us, year over year, to provide fair and equal funding to our graduate students, which in turn gives them the freedom to think and write. Over the last ten years, the program has made huge strides with our donors' support. The Workshop has grown into a diverse and vibrant community and we continue to see our grads succeed out in the literary world.

We are living in a complicated economy and a challenging time for public universities, and our overwhelming hope is to secure a stable future for this program. The Writers' Workshop has been a singular place for writers for over 80 years and we want to see it continue and thrive for 80 more. We wouldn't be able to do any of this without the help of our remarkable donors.
