This spring, as part of the University of Iowa’s 175th anniversary, the Stanley Reads book club will be reading A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley. A Thousand Acres won the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction in 1991 and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1992.
