Chris Adrian is the author of the novels Gob's GriefThe Children's Hospital, and The Great Night, and the story collection, A Better Angel. He is co-author of the novel, The New World, with Eli Horowitz. His work has been featured in publications such as The Paris ReviewThe New YorkerGrantaPloughsharesBest American Short Stories, and McSweeney's. His honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, and inclusion in The New Yorker's 2010 "20 under 40" Fiction Issue.

A graduate of the Writers' Workshop, he earned an M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and studied theology at Harvard Divinity School. A practicing physician, he is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center.
