Biography

Spring 2017

Brian Blanchfield is the author of three books of poetry and prose, including Proxies: Essays Near Knowing, for which he received a 2016 Whiting Award in Nonfiction, and A Several World, winner of the 2014 Academy of American Poets James Laughlin Award.

His work has appeared in Harper's, The Nation, BOMB, Brick, The Paris Review, and Lana Turner, among other magazines.

A recipient of a 2015 Howard Foundation Grant in Poetry, he lives in Tucson, where he hosts Speedway and Swan, a poetry-and-music radio show, in collaboration with the University of Arizona Poetry Center and KXCI Community Radio.
