Lisa Wells is the author of Believers: Making a Life at the End of the World (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2021) and The Fix , winner of the Iowa Poetry Prize. Her poems and essays have been published by The New York Times, Harper’s Magazine, Granta, The Believer, n+1 and others. A graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, she currently lives in south Seattle where she writes a column called Abundant Noise for Orion Magazine.

Rachel Greenwald Smith is the author of Affect and American Literature in the Age of Neoliberalism. Her essays have appeared in American Literature, the Account, Mediations, and elsewhere. She teaches at Saint Louis University
