Man Booker Prizewinning author of The Luminaries and Writers’ Workshop graduate Eleanor Catton will read from and talk about her new book, Birnam Wood. “Mysterious and marvelously unpredictable, Birnam Wood had me reading the way I used to as a kid—curiously, desperately, and as if it was the whole world. Eleanor Catton connects to the natural and unnatural ways in which we try to control our environments, our impulses, and one another. A spectacular novel, conjured by a virtuoso.”
Eleanor Catton is also the author of The Rehearsal, which won the Betty Trask Award and was long-listed for the Orange Prize. Catton was the screenwriter of Emma, a 2020 feature film adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel. Born in Canada and raised in New Zealand, she now lives in Cambridge, England.
